A simple, clean, and familiar interface

We've got a lot planned for this interface as we go forward, so we decided to start out with something simple and familiar that's easy for OS X users to navigate.

Sync with Strip for iOS

Our Ditto replication technology combined with Strip's sync service allows you to easily take backups of your data, and sync your changes back and forth from your desktop and your mobile device. We make use of Apple's Bonjour service discovery technology so that copies of Strip for iOS on your local WiFi network can find Strip on your Mac.

Backup and Restore

Every time you sync, Strip takes a backup first, just in case something goes wrong. You can find them on the Backups panel, create backups yourself on demand, and revert to any previous version.

Copy and Paste

No need for fancy template systems here; if you have an entry record set up just the way you like it and you need to make five more, you can use our copy and paste support for instant gratification. Available in the Edit menu, as well as the common key bindings (CMD+C, CMD+V), you'll find you can even copy an entire category and all of its entries at once.

Non-destructive

Strip doesn't start deleting data just because you whacked the backspace or delete key by accident. We've done our best to give you a chance to back out of any potentially destructive operations on your data.

Simple Data Editor

Our data editor supports single and multi-line text, changing and customizing field labels, easily copying field data for use in other apps, and changing entry and category icons. The labels on each field control how the fields behave when synced over to iOS, and we will soon provide similar custom behaviors on OS X.

All Passwords Have to Change Sometime

Changing your password for Strip involves a lot of work in the background since it requires re-encrypting your entire database. We make sure to do that work in the background as quickly as possible, and we make a rollback copy of your database before we start the operation in case something goes wrong and it is interrupted.
