Configuring Strip Sync for Mac OS X
To get started, run the App Store on your iOS device and make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of Strip. This document assumes that you’ve already downloaded and installed Strip Sync for Mac OS X.
Next, run Strip Sync from your Applications folder. The first time you run the program you’ll be prompted to set a database password. Enter the same password you use for Strip on your mobile device.
Once Strip Sync is running on your desktop:
- Log back into Strip on your device.
- Click Strip’s Sync tab on your iPhone.
- Click Choose a Computer, and select your computer name from the list.
- Click the Start Sync button.
This should synchronize your device with the desktop. You should see the appropriate number of Categories, Entries and Fields on the Database panel. Once you’ve synced, please experiment with and test the following features:
- Export your database to a CSV file.
- Import new entries from a CSV file (bulk updating of existing entries is supported, but only in the Mac version for now).
- Backup / restore databases from the Backup Tab.
- Synchronize databases between multiple computers and devices (e.g. with both an iPhone and an iPad).
